As part of the continual negotiations regarding the implementation of the South Australia Modern Public-Sector Enterprise Agreement, in particular Clause 59.5 -Appendix 10 -Allied Health Assistants (AHA), the Office for the Public Sector (OPS) has provided the HSUSA/NT with a proposed translation documents for consultation. The proposal includes:
- Draft Allied Health Assistants translation guide (Guide to managers)
- Draft Allied Health Assistants translation guide (resources) inclusive of generic role (descriptions for Local Health Networks Location) and template for assessment of AHA1 to AHA2 competency
- Draft Allied Health Assistants application for reclassification OPS2/AHA2 to AHA3 progression
- Application for reclassification – SA Health Reclassification form for AHA3 to AHP4 progression
The proposed translation documents form part of the continue negotiations for the translation of Allied Health Assistants, this include AHA who are under direct supervision and delegation by Allied Health Professionals
OPS has proposed 12 May 2018 as the operative day for reclassification / translation (pending the outcome of negotiations).

In addition, I am pleased to advise that
- negotiations regarding Work Level Definitions for Perfusionist will commence in the next few weeks as per Clause 39.4 of the Enterprise Agreement; and
- the review of Allied Health Professionals classification structure, including our claim for the introduction of the Incorporated Pathways model (Extended Scope of Practice), will commence late June / early July 2018.
